Join your station

Press Join on your station's own page — http://satnogs-optical.local on your home network — and it brings you here with its code filled in.That page also shows a QR code of the same link, for your phone. If .local doesn't resolve, use the station's IP address from your router's device list.

Sign inLSF SSO — the same account as network.satnogs.org and db.satnogs.org. One identity across the family.

The station's codeThe code identifies your station's own keypair. It is one-time and expires; if it lapses, the station shows a fresh one.

Type it only on a device that is not showing the station's page; the Join button and the QR code fill it in for you.

Credit runs to the network rather than to your station, so a reuser owes one line however many stations contributed. Your station is still named in every measurement it produces. What the licence says

The station binds itselfYour station is already polling. It receives its credentials over TLS, directly from the network — you never handle a secret.

Why a code, not a passwordThe SD card carries no secret: your station generated its own keypair on first boot and the code is derived from its public key. A stolen card yields nothing, and a wiped station can be claimed again with a new code.No coordinates to typePosition and time come from the station's GNSS receiver, never from a form, so a mistyped coordinate cannot reach the data. There is nothing to configure before first light.
